Description Mads Peter Rommedahl 2008-05-08 06:34:42 UTC
Documentation
Section: Manually Mounting and Unmounting File Systems in Drive Mounter Manual
" Some systems may also automatically mount some removable media (such as USB and IEEE1394 disks), these devices may also come up in the Disk Mounter so that you can unmount them when you are finished, and provide a visual indication that they are present."

Correct version:
Should be using "Firewire" (or "FireWire") instead of "IEEE1394".

Other information:
This bug has been forwarded from the Ubuntu Bugtracker. The original description was:
"In the section of the user documentation called 'Manually Mounting and Unmounting File Systems' there is a reference to "such as USB and IEEE1394 disks". I think few users who need to read that document would know what IEEE1394 is and anyone who knows what IEEE1394 is will also know that it's commonly called firewire.

I suggest the reference be changed to refer to Firewire instead of IEEE1394."

This is probably a Ubuntu addition. I didn't find this text in GNOME package.

Not "a Ubuntu addition". Else, it wouldn't be here: http://library.gnome.org/users/drivemount/2.31/drivemountapplet-intro.html.en
