Last modified: 2009-06-18 07:47:59 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have my panel set to hide and unhide automaticly on mouse over. When I launch application from launcher on panel and move mouse off the panel before application completely launch, the panel doesn't hide automaticly Steps to reproduce: 1. set panel (including launcher applet to hide and unhide automaticly 2. click on launcher of application that take long time to launch 3. move mouse of the panel quickly Actual results: panel doesn't unhide Expected results: panel hide Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
same problem for me. another step to reproduce: 1. put in your panel (set to hide and unhide auto) the Trash 2. show the panel, and right click on the Trash, this will show a menu 3. now left click out of menu and panel (click on the desktop background) result: panel doesn't hide :(
I also have the same problem, gnome-panel.x86_64 for Fedora 9 version 2.22.2-2.
This bug is still present in version 2.24.1
I found three bugs in this upstream tracker that describe the same problem: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=529785 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302574 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134563 Maybe someone can have a look at them and decide wheter two are just duplicates. Thanks.
I looked at all three bugs Martin listed. Using 2.24.1-0ubuntu2.1 (Ubuntu 8.10) I was unable to reproduce these two: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=529785 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302574 But I could reproduce http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134563 I don't /think/ they are duplicates. 302574 may be fixed as there have been no reports for a couple of years. The original reports for 529785 and 134563 seem to be distinct. Comment #1 in 529785 actually seems to be reproducing bug 134563, not bug 529785. To reproduce 134563: Set panel to auto-hide. Right-click on an applet (tried with power manager, network monitor and system monitor), then click on About, a background application, or the desktop. Result: menu disappears, panel stays visible. Expected result: menu disappears, panel hides. Slightly different way to reproduce 134563: Set panel to auto-hide. Open sufficient windows/applications that some are are grouped. Click on a group, select a window from the menu. Result: menu disappears, panel stays visible. Expected result: menu disappears, panel hides.
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. (keeping bug since it has a screenshot of the settings to reproduce) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 570458 ***
