GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 529460
remove "wizard" from user-visible strings and user docs
Last modified: 2013-09-13 00:57:18 UTC
#: ../plugins/startup-wizard/org-gnome-evolution-startup-wizard.eplug.xml.h:1 msgid "A plugin that handles the Startup wizard." #: ../plugins/startup-wizard/org-gnome-evolution-startup-wizard.eplug.xml.h:2 msgid "Startup wizard" #: ../plugins/startup-wizard/startup-wizard.c:84 msgid "Evolution Setup Assistant" please use the same noun for everything (also for user documentation). http://library.gnome.org/devel/gdp-style-guide/2.22/gnome-glossary-desktop.html.en says: assistant Do not use the following terms as synonyms for assistant: * Druid * Wizard
Would you prefer "Startup Assistant" or "Setup Assistant"? I think I prefer "setup" despite the plugin name. But it's only a slight preference.
Fixed in revision 35885. Also changed the plugin description to something less lame: "Guides you through your initial account setup."
And yes, I'll remember to announce the changes.
