Description ckl017 2001-04-05 20:36:13 UTC
Package: gtk+
Version: 1.2.0

i don't know if this is the correct place to log this, but i couldn't find
anyplace more apropriate on the website.

I haven't been able to download gtk+ 1.2.10 from the website (or from the
gnome mirrors) for a couple days (every since gnome 1.4 was announced).
Getting the url:

ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v1.2/gtk+-1.2.10.tar.gz

gives me:

File Not Found

The requested URL ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v1.2/gtk+-1.2.10.tar.gz was not
found on this server.

No real idea what is going on here. The file is there,
netscape and ncftpget can handle it fine.
Comment 2 Havoc Pennington 2001-05-10 21:44:19 UTC
For me wget fails but wget --passive works
Comment 3 Owen Taylor 2001-05-23 15:13:57 UTC
The need for wget --passive is just a symptom of being behind
a firewall; outside the firewall, this isn't necessary.

I suspect though, that the original reporters problem is
similar - the client being used isn't using passive FTP
and there is a firewall in the way.

I don't think there is really any action we can take here,
so I'm closing the bug.
