GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 528337
Alt-shift-tab behavior has changed without notice
Last modified: 2008-11-22 19:13:22 UTC
Please describe the problem: The way things used to work: 3a) Normal Alt-Shift-Tab behavior ("normal" being defined as "the way everything except Ubuntu 8.04 does it"): Pressing and holding Alt, then tapping Shift-Tab, brings up a list of window icons with text describing each window. The last icon is selected. With one icon selected, if one presses Shift-Tab, you go backwards in the list. If one presses Tab, one goes forward in the list. Releasing Alt makes the list go away and the selected window come to the foreground. Steps to reproduce: 1. Hold Alt and tap Shift-Tab 2. Tap Tab 3. Be confused at the direction you went! Actual results: Tab moves you backwards in the list. Expected results: Tab should move you forward in the list. Does this happen every time? Yes! Other information: I also filed this bug in Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/metacity/+bug/217989
Confirmed. How bizarre.
This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
