GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 525360
Gstreamer fails, no sound
Last modified: 2008-03-31 16:00:23 UTC
When attempting to setup "Sound Preferences", on the Gnome Desktop & turning sound on, no sound is present, and gstreamer outputs the following message: "audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=music: Internal GStreamer error: state change failed. Please file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=GStreamer." os: Fedora Core 8 Linux Sound Card: Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Gstreamer 0.10.15-1.fc8.i386 Under FC7, sound was fine, and AmaroK worked.
It's a sound configuration issue. Go to System => Preferences => Sound and choose a different sound output method for movies/music. (And sorry for the bad error message; this has been fixed in the latest gst-plugins-good release). Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version.
