The "state change failed" error message is a (fixed) bug in GStreamer, it is
hiding the real error message.  There is most probably something wrong with
your setup, try going to System => Preferences => Sound and play with different
settings for "Music and Movies playback".

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.
