Description Michael Monreal 2008-03-27 15:08:37 UTC
Sometimes it makes sense to order a source by a hidden column. For example, smart playlists like "recently imported" and "recently played" are nice to have sorted by the actual import/play date but you don't really need to see them all the time.

Now, showing the column, sorting by it and hiding it works fine, even after switching sources. But after restarting banshee the sorting is reset.

Good suggestion, I rather like the idea. (I'll be trying it out!)

I'd like to have the option of not sorting the playlists.

Right now it seems impossible to arrange a playlist in an desired order. Banshee is not DJ friendly. Imported albums/tracks don't use the ID3 tags to assign albums so tracks from an album could end up anywhere in playlist and there's no way to move the tracks into the correct or a desired order.

An album "100 Guitar Songs" by various artists creates 100 albums and a headache moving all those artists into 1 playlist, even then there's still 100 one track albums.

The sorting feature needs to be option for each individual playlist. For example, one multi-artist or multi-album playlist can be sorted by album title while another multi-artist or multi-album playlist is not be sorted.

That should be fixed for 1.2.
