Description Peter Hagestein 2008-03-25 21:56:00 UTC
Hi,

Every time that I want to play a CD or something like that, I get an error message that says that there is an internal error:

Error playing CD.

Reason: Internal GStreamer error: state change failed. Please file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=GStreamer.

I don't have any sound at all. I do get messages that tells me that I don't have the required plugins for Gstreamer.

I am a newbee for UBUNTU so maybe I'm doing something wrong. Can you help me out on this?

Kind regards, Peter

The "state change failed" error message is a (fixed) bug in GStreamer, it is hiding the real error message. There is most probably something wrong with your setup, try going to System => Preferences => Sound and play with different settings for "Music and Movies playback".
