The System Log Viewer is too simple.
It needs more functionality.

It needs so you can sort it by event type, date, category, source package, etc.

It needs icons or colors.

And have "severity" so that it displays differently informations, warnings and errors, example different icon or color.

I don't know about all those other improvements, but each log file follows a pretty standard format. Why not add some color coding to the text? Bold red for error messages, orange for warnings, etc. Make the timestamp gray, maybe. 

I guess I just want the log files a little easier to sift through.

Hi Moo; thanks for the report but please file a bug for each issue you want to raise (describing them precisely). General "improvement" bugs like this are very likely to be ignored.
