GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 521155
Clock Applet crashes GNOME panel when trying to add Wichita-McConnell AFB to locations
Last modified: 2008-04-03 16:40:21 UTC
Please describe the problem: Selecting Wichita-McConnell AFB as a location in the clock applet fails. It appears to cause a crash that includes the entire GNOME panel. This appears to be *specific* to Wichita-McConnell AFB, and not to all locations. Steps to reproduce: 1. Click on clock applet. 2. Click on Edit next to Locations. 3. Click Add. 4. Click Find... 5. Type in Wichita. 6. Click Find Next. 7. Select Wichita-McConnell AFB. 8. Click OK. Actual results: The entire GNOME panel disappears, taking the clock applet and its open windows with it, and then the GNOME panel reappears. It seems that perhaps the clock applet crashed and caused the GNOME panel to shut down and then reload. Expected results: "Wichita-McConnell AFB" should appear in the window where "Find..." was clicked. Does this happen every time? Yes, this occurs every time with Wichita-McConnell AFB. Interestingly it doesn't occur with other locations, i.e., it appears to be specific to Wichita-McConnell AFB. For example, Ithaca (in the state of NY) works fine.
