GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 519309
[network-admin] No "no encyption" option in Gnome network-admin
Last modified: 2012-11-24 20:29:51 UTC
This bug has been filed here: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-tools/+bug/158687 "While trying to use gnome-network configuration gui to connect to an unsecured access point there is no option to select "no encryption" or "unsecured". I have to manually use iwconfig to set the ESSID and encryption level to none. I would expect to see "WPA/WPA2/WEP/Unsecured" for example as drop down options." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10214963/gnome_network_dropdown_list.png Thanks,
According to its developer(s), gnome-system-tools is not under active development anymore. Functionality has been mostly integrated into GNOME Control Center / "[System] Settings". It is unlikely that there will be any further active development. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping - Please feel free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
