GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 517429
Workspace switcher and all-window switcher should be compositorified
Last modified: 2020-11-07 12:35:46 UTC
It would be great if the workspace swithcer had hotness like the alt+tab window switcher. Ideas: * Show a preview of all workspaces when switching, but an actual one rather than just icnos. Might me a bit to large with alots of workspaces (>4?) * 'Slide' effect when changing workspace, would add needed hotness. * Any other ideas?
I think that's a really good idea-- it's a shame that the workspace switcher (and also the ctrl-alt-tab window switcher), for completeness) don't use the same code. I doubt it would be hard to implement, but Iain would know. Iain, I'm sending this one your way...
* Show a preview of all workspaces when switching, but an actual one rather than just icnos. Might me a bit to large with alots of workspaces (>4?) I sort of had this working, but there were issues with Render's scaling that made it screw up. due to the way the alt-tab switcher is written was requiring many ugly hacks in the code, so I never continued working on it. * 'Slide' effect when changing workspace, would add needed hotness. I have been thinking about this one recently, would probably not be too hard although I'm not sure how fast Render would be at doing it, but possibly worth trying.
