Description doume.villard 2008-02-12 16:59:34 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The generated stats are in the reverse order when using the "descriptive statistics" wizard on several columns (I haven't tried with rows).

Steps to reproduce:
1. I have several columns on which i want to run "descriptive statistics".
2. I select these columns in a given orde and i run the "descriptive statistics" wizard.
3. The generated stats are in the reverse order.

Actual results:

Expected results:
stats should be generated in the same order as the selection.

Does this happen every time?
YES

I cannot replicate this.

Please be more specific what you are doing. Most importantly, which input area are you specifying in the Input Range field in the guru.

If I specify the input range as:
Sheet1!$B$1:$B$5,Sheet1!$A$1:$A$5
then in the output the B column comes first and the A column second.

Oh I think I see: Are you selecting the separate columns before opening the guru? If you do that the Input Range may contain the columns in reverse ordering.

As a work around you can open the wizard first and then select the columns.

Note that this issue is not specific to the descriptive statistics tool but it is the case with all tools that "preload" existing selections.

You're right, i was selecting the columns before running the guru.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
