A fried recently gave me a .zip file which I could not open using FileRoller. The message I got:

need PK compat. v4.5 (can do v2.1)

Using "unzip" on the console gave the same error. Using google I found out about a way to unzip those files: 7za x <filename>

Perhaps FileRoller should use 7za as a fallback or at least give a hint to try it in the error message?

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
