Description Diego González 2008-02-02 13:09:50 UTC
hi, i was trying to look where the new trash is (GIO) and found this directory contains several hundred small files, the first one written in 2006 up to today.

Nautilus shoud not leave this useless files behind it.
Comment 1 Germán Poo-Caamaño 2008-11-07 02:57:17 UTC
Confirming the bug. Easy to reproduce :-)
Comment 2 Emmanuel Fleury 2008-11-10 14:25:43 UTC
I did not notice this problem on my system (Nautilus 2.20.0). My trash is located at: /home/fleury/.local/share

And its content is:

Trash/
|-- files
| `-- Erasmus_Mundus_Proposal-2x1.pdf
`-- info
    |-- Erasmus_Mundus_Proposal-2x1.pdf.trashinfo
    |-- link.trashinfo
    |-- linux-2.6.26.5.tar.bz2.trashinfo
    `-- ribeiro00multiscale.pdf.trashinfo

2 directories, 5 files

I guess the files *.trashinfo are removed from time to time but I do not know when (I guess when you log out). Is it still a bug ???
Comment 3 Paul Wise 2008-11-10 14:36:23 UTC
The issue is with ~/.nautilus/ not the Trash. I think you got confused by the first message.
Comment 4 Emmanuel Fleury 2008-11-10 14:40:28 UTC
Got it. I do confirm the problem. :)

$ ls ~/.nautilus/
metafiles/ saved-session-B49J4T saved-session-L7LK4T
saved-session-4LQ23T saved-session-F7OA4T saved-session-MMM93T
saved-session-4QW14T saved-session-GBU53T saved-session-SZ56IU
saved-session-76KM4T saved-session-GF9R4T saved-session-TG704T
Comment 5 Dan Winship 2008-11-14 15:00:54 UTC
the bug in nautilus 2.24 and below is that it's not calling gnome_client_set_discard_command() in nautilus-application.c:save_session(). It's already fixed in trunk (where it uses EggSMClient instead).
Comment 6 Emmanuel Fleury 2008-11-19 06:43:48 UTC
So, it should be tagged as 'FIXED' or 'OBSOLETE', isn't it ?
Comment 7 Dan Winship 2008-11-19 14:58:40 UTC
someone may still want to fix it for 2.24.2 next week
Comment 8 Cosimo Cecchi 2009-02-21 13:29:25 UTC
We won't have any other 2.24 releases -> FIXED.
