Description g11024342@trbvm.com 2008-02-01 21:23:53 UTC
Today you can set in preferences if you want regular quoted replies or Outlook style replies (and more).

I think very many people are forced to used the Outlook reply because if you are in a discussion with a number of people, you really need to use the same style as they do.

When it's not work-related mails I want to use regular quoted replies instead. Today this is very cumbersome, I have to change the preferences for every time I need a different reply style.

A quick and quite good solution to this would be to add a key-mapping to use an alternate reply method. Optimally you could choose a primary and a secondary reply style in preferences. Ctrl-r would be the primary and ctrl-someotherkey would be the secondary.

Valid enhancement IMO. We can have it the same way as Forward styles.

Bumping version to a stable release.

As written on http://library.gnome.org/users/evolution/3.3/mail-composer-reply.html :

The default settings for replying and forwarding can be changed under Edit ▸ Preferences ▸ Composer Preferences ▸ General ▸ Replies and Forwards ▸ Reply style.

André: Yes, but this request was for a setting per mail account. In my case I have one work account where I need to use Outlook-replies but for my private account I want regular quoted reply.

I made this happen. The option can be found in account properties in the Defaults tab, just below the CC and BCC fields.
