Description Robert Kuma 2008-01-28 15:27:20 UTC
Open/Save As dialog windows should have better screen edge detection so they always appear entirely on the screen.

If the image window is near the edge of the screen (top for example), the save as dialog window is partially displayed out of the screen. In case of top edge, then the top bar and file name can be entirely hidden.
The window can be refreshed and at least 'unhide' the filename dialog when resizing it a little.
It's not a big issue, but can be annoying when working with big images (or big zoom).

To reproduce:
- move the image window to the top of the screen so that the window bar is close to the edge
- select "Save As" or "Open" from File menu of the image.

Other information:
This also applies to older versions.

System:
OS: Windows XP SP 2.
Gimp installation from SourceForge: GIMP 2.4.3 + GTK+ 2.12.5

Are you still able to trigger this bug? I've just checked it with GIMP 2.6.6 and GTk 2.16, and that does no happen. Thanks for your feedback!

I can also not reproduce this with Gimp 2.8.4 / GTK 2.24.10.

Closing.
