Description Asaf 2008-01-27 22:18:23 UTC
It is not possible to select the sound card or the sound device or sound protocol to be used in Banshee. I personally have two sound cards on the machine that I use each for different things. I could not find a way to tell banshee which sound card to use or which protocol to use (ALSA...). I think it is important to make this possible. Thanks.

Banshee is a GStreamer framework application and as such uses GStreamer's system-wide settings.

You can configure GStreamer's (and Banshee, Totem, etc) audio output (ALSA, OSS, Pulseaudio, etc) by running gstreamer-properties. Your distribution may have a control panel item for it.

If you are having a specific audio engine issue related to Banshee or GStreamer please file a bug in regard to that.
