Description Mark 2008-01-20 14:36:19 UTC
Hey,

About a day ago i was trying to change the behavior of gnome when you put in a video dvd which was running Totem by default. Now where would you expect you can change Totem to another media player? It's not in "preferred applications" but in "Removable Drives and Media"! which is totally confusing! Than what's the use of "Preferred Applications" if other Preferred Applications are done in "Removable Drives and Media"?

My idea would be to merge to 2 together or rewrite it from scratch.

More about this and reply's can be found here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2008-January/msg01924.html

What's your opinion about this?

Mark

Please test the new media insertion actions as available in the nautilus in rawhide. Putting together all types of media under one would certainly not want the same application to handle audio and video discs.

Please don't file bugs rashly without listening to the e-mails sent to the lists, and tone down the ranting a tad bit. Thank you.

Thanx for the reply.
i installed the rawhide like you suggested and that looks promising indeed.
