Most of the new empathy rocks :). However I've noticed that if you select to show off-line contacts and then select browse by status that the off-line contacts are placed before the on-line ones meaning you either need to stop showing off-line contacts or scroll to the bottom of the contacts window to access them.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
