GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 508737
can't add file to the archive if archive name is without extension
Last modified: 2020-11-11 19:13:56 UTC
This report has been filled here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file-roller/+bug/181975 "If a filename of the archive does not contains an extension (e.g. *.zip) adding files to the archive leads to creation of a new archive instead changing original one. Example: - create a ZIP archive and name it 'foo' (not 'foo.zip') - open it in FileRoller - add a new file to the archive by dragging some file from Nautilus to FileRoller window Expected behavior - dragged file should be added to the 'foo' archive Current behavior - a new archive named 'foo.zip' is created, dragged file is added to this archive" Thanks,
I can confirm this on File Roller 2.21.91
Confirming on File Roller 3.2.1
bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time. If you still use file-roller and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/file-roller/-/issues/ Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
