GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 505995
No way to clear recently open projects
Last modified: 2018-09-21 16:25:58 UTC
A menu option for clearing the recently open projects list would be helpful. Where is this information stored anyway? Other information:
Yes we should add that option. Now i'm getting confused here and i missed this when Philippe commited the code... On my recent projects sub-menu i get all the recent items i opened just like i get using gnome-panel->places->recent documents, we have a bug here or we need to change the name and give some action to the files there cause i can't do anything with those. Another problem is that on the main projects menu on "Choose a recently opened project: " i got the right actions opened but we also need an option to clear it. Now should we add the option to "File->Recent Projects" clear just like gnome panel does on "Places-Recent documents" or should we add and option to "Edit" menu to clear both options ? Philippe what do you think ?
From what i've been testing if we use gtk_recent_manager_purge_items() will remove also the items from the gnome-panel which is a bad thing, i'm not sure if we want this.
OK, I thought there was no way to remove those but I see that the list can be cleared from the gnome-panel along with everything else. I think we can close this as NOTABUG. Thanks anyway! :)
No we need to fix the problem i said on comment #1
Ok i took some impressions with Philippe and we should stay the current behavior and limit the files to 5 instead of 20 (default for gnome-panel). But i've been thinking that the current name "Recent Projects" is going to confuse the users maybe we should switch to "Recent Documents" like the gnome-panel.
Yes that could be a good idea. Initially this menu was only for projects made by brasero and I extended it afterwards to all files that could be used by brasero: projects, images, tocs, .... That's why it became so long maybe. So yes, "Recent Documents" could be a good alternative; or maybe something along the line "Recent Burnt images" (that would include projects, and images). I don't know.

I am new to Brasero and I was surpised to see a list of random rabbish media files listed as previous burn projects on the VERY FIRST launch of Brasero on a freshly installed system. I haven't even started using this PC and only listened to a couple of MP3s to check sound support.
