Zip, rar, bz2, gz, rpm, etc. Maybe all arcihve files?
Comment 4 Björn Martensen 2008-01-08 19:15:06 UTC
the problem still persists in nautilus 2.21.2
happens with all archive types.
Comment 5 Alexander Larsson 2008-01-15 14:31:51 UTC
We're just using the mimetype to set the icon atm, as we lack more info in the mime db. See this for more info:

Comment 6 Sunny Sachanandani 2008-02-04 13:22:21 UTC
Strangely though the rodent theme does show the right icons for archive types.

All other themes don't.
Comment 7 Jonh Wendell 2008-02-14 12:25:23 UTC
I have registered my own icon, for my app - vinagre - files (*.vnc). Nautilus 2.20 was showing it perfectly, but new nautilus don't.

Double click on the file is fine, file properties is showing the right mime type. The only error is that the icon is not being showed. Instead, I see the file preview, because .vnc is subclass of text/plain (It's just an .ini file).
Comment 8 Jonh Wendell 2008-02-14 20:25:38 UTC
Ah, in the gtkfilechooser dialog, the icon is displayed normally.

Are you sure you are using the GIO backend?

gconf:///desktop/gnome/interface/file_chooser_backend --> gio

Comment 12 Sebastien Bacher 2008-02-22 15:08:34 UTC
That was mostly due to the new code using icons using the gnome-icon-mimetype naming, alex fixed that to svn now: http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/glib?view=revision&revision=6557

I think the bug can be closed and the few other buggy cases should be fixed in the icon themes or shared-mime-info
Comment 13 Jonh Wendell 2008-02-26 11:40:13 UTC
It has been fixed to archive (.zip,...) files, Ooo files, but .vnc files still have the wrong icon...
