I like to see how my shares are performing over the current calendar year. There does not appear to be a way to do this in GnuCash. Performance is calculated on a cost basis - but I want it calculated on a "value at the beginning of the year" basis.

This is essentially a duplicate of bug #312049 which asks to include a start-date in the advanced portfolio report.
