This is a screenshot that shows the bug

The left version is the one that I filled in in evince, the right one shows the outcome of printing to file (PDF) and re-displaying it with evince. The same thing happens when the file is actually printed and also if displayed with Adobe reader.

Yes, I can reproduce it in multiline text fields.
Comment 5 Sven Arvidsson 2008-01-19 21:04:49 UTC
A Debian user has reported a somewhat similar issue with multiline text fields. See http://bugs.debian.org/48471

Screenshot of the entered text:

Is it the same bug or should I file a seperate report about it?

I think it's the same problem. Thanks.
Comment 7 Keenan Pepper 2008-02-03 16:24:04 UTC
I just got hit by this bug, and it may have cost me a $4000 scholarship. I mean, it's mostly my fault for waiting until the last minute, but if Evince had worked correctly the application would have been in on time. I eventually had to just install Adobe Reader.

So, I'm adding "fix this bug" to the list of things to do as soon as I get some spare time, because I have a vendetta against the bug. I don't care if I have to learn all about how Evince works first.

Of course, if someone else fixes it first, I have no problem with that... =)
Comment 8 Carlos Garcia Campos 2008-02-04 09:06:39 UTC
Michael Vrable is already working on it, and I would say he is very close to fix it. See this thread in poppler list:

Here is another PDF form, which seemingly causes the same bug:

Comment 10 Carlos Garcia Campos 2008-03-06 11:17:15 UTC
I had forgotten this. It was finaly fixed in poppler by Michael Vrable.
