servus murray! #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:38 "<span weight=\"bold\" size=\"larger\">Add Module</span>\n \n What name should this group have?" you first call it a module and then a group. perhaps it's intended, nevertheless it's confusing. #: ../glom/utility_widgets/flowtablewithfields.cc:942 "tab1" #: ../glom/utility_widgets/flowtablewithfields.cc:943 "Tab One" what is meant by this? #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:142 #: ../glom/translation/window_translations.cc:587 "Import" noun or verb? please add a translator comment, see http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#use-comments #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:147 "Main" mainwhat? :) #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:94 "Check" noun or verb? #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:73 "Add Related" related what? or "relationships"? #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:128 "From Field:" ...in the sence of SQL's "FROM" (=do not translate)? #: ../glom/libglom/data_structure/layout/layoutitem_notebook.cc:55 "Notebook" that small computer, or that paper thingy? context? #: ../glom/combobox_fields.cc:175 "(None)" "Nichts", "Kein", "Keine", "Keines"? please choose ;-) #: ../glom/main.cc:129 "Error while parsing commmand-line options: " typo: three "m" #: ../glom/mode_design/print_layouts/window_print_layout_edit.cc:121 "_Page Setup" #: ../glom/relationships_overview/dialog_relationships_overview.cc:54 "Page _Setup" harmonize mnemonic (more to come, perhaps...)
#: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:80 "Add a related records portal. This is a list of records in a related table. Remember to edit this layout item to specify the relationship to use, and the fields to show from the related table." two whitespaces: "the fields"
and i have big problems with all the "item" occurrences. i wonder if i can translate it like "element", or if you sometimes refer to a button in the toolbar.

That's a typo. It should be a (python) module in both cases. Fixed. > #: ../glom/utility_widgets/flowtablewithfields.cc:942 > "tab1" > #: ../glom/utility_widgets/flowtablewithfields.cc:943 > "Tab One" > what is meant by this? They are for a notebook tab. I don't know how to add a translator comment in glade - I don't even see the translatable bool in glade-3 now. Feel free to fix that in svn, but note that you shouldn't open and save the actual .glade file because glade-2 and glade-3 both currently destroy unrelated parts of our .glade files. I use glade on a copy and then past the resulting xml. > #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:94 > "Check" > noun or verb? An action verb - it checks a python script for errors. It's a button. > #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:73 > "Add Related" > related what? or "relationships"? Renamed to "Add Related Records", though it really adds a "portal" widget that can contain related records. (It's part of UI layout editing.) > #: ../glom/glom_developer.glade.h:128 > "From Field:" > ...in the sence of SQL's "FROM" (=do not translate)? Yes. It's the From part of a relationship between two tables. > #: ../glom/libglom/data_structure/layout/layoutitem_notebook.cc:55 > "Notebook" > that small computer, or that paper thingy? context? It's as in a GtkNotebook. Comment added. > #: ../glom/combobox_fields.cc:175 > "(None)" > "Nichts", "Kein", "Keine", "Keines"? please choose ;-) There is already this comment: " #. A special "None" item, allowing the user to do the equivalent of clearing the combobox, #. which is not normally possible with the GtkComboBox UI: " So it means "nothing is selected". Feel free to commit a clearer comment. > #: ../glom/main.cc:129 > "Error while parsing commmand-line options: " > typo: three "m" Fixed. > #: ../glom/mode_design/print_layouts/window_print_layout_edit.cc:121 > "_Page Setup" > #: ../glom/relationships_overview/dialog_relationships_overview.cc:54 > "Page _Setup" > harmonize mnemonic Fixed. It generally means a "layout item", such as a field, button, image, group, notebook, etc, while defining the UI layout. Thanks.
