#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-account-widget-generic.c:146
#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-account-widget-generic.c:208
#, c-format
"%s:"

is this required to be marked for translation? if so, please provide a translator comment: http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#use-comments

#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-account-widget-jabber.glade.h:10
"jabber account settings"
#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-account-widget-msn.glade.h:7
"msn account settings"
#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-account-widget-salut.glade.h:8
"salut account settings"

any reason for the non-capital spelling? shouldn't it be MSN for example?

#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-account-widget-salut.glade.h:2
"_E-mail:"

it's "Email", also in other places in the po file

#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-preferences.glade.h:7
"<b>Visual</b>"

context? how to translate properly? (translator comment)

#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-chat.glade.h:11
#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-main-window.glade.h:4
"Join _New..."
#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-new-chatroom-dialog.glade.h:6
"Join New"

how to translate properly? sigh. i guess i know what you want to say, but in other languages the order is different, like "New Chat join" instead of "Join New Chat". :-/

#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-contact-widget.glade.h:12
"Identifier:"

what is that in this context? (translator comment)

#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-log-window.glade.h:3
"Search"

verb or noun? (translator comment)

#: ../libempathy-gtk/empathy-log-window.glade.h:4
"_For:"

this can mean for different words in other languages. for what? (translator comment)

"Smiley" vs "Emoticon"
i think evolution switched to use emoticon instead. what's your opinion on that?

This is necessary because some languages, like french, will translate that to
"%s :"

I think those are not displayed since it's the title of a GtkWindow but UI only display the contained widget. It shouldn't be marked as translatable.

Right.

It's in preference dialog, for visual preferences like notifications. Maybe we should add a comment to translators

it's an item in the Chat menu of the main window.

That's the ID of the contact, like "user@jabber.org"

That's the title of the first tab of the dialog. I guess that's a verb.

It's in the log window, you can search "for" a work.

I agree we should use only one word for that, I would vote for "Emoticon".

Remove translatable properties, or add translator comments

I left the smiley/emoticon issue as is, but I asked it to be considered in shaunm word-a-day effort.
