Description Ihar Hrachyshka 2007-11-12 22:11:45 UTC
You should provide localizers with a gettext comment. Look here for info: http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#use-comments

Documentation was moved to http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/DevGuidelines/Use%20comments
Comment 2 André Klapper 2008-02-04 20:41:43 UTC
err... pavel: changing the summary so that it does not contain any information what string this is about is not very useful ;-)
Comment 3 Pavel Šefránek 2008-02-04 20:49:55 UTC
andre: banshee doesn't use gettext comments at all, i don't think BooXteR thought only that one "Boo Buddy" string.
Comment 4 Ihar Hrachyshka 2008-02-04 21:55:57 UTC
Hm, while translating I didn't step in another problematic gettext messages in Banshee. So _for me_ only this message is nonsense and untranslatable. Of course, other messages can be commented to if it's worth the work.
Comment 5 Pavel Šefránek 2008-02-04 22:25:57 UTC
BooXteR: "Boo Buddy is an integrated Boo shell inside banshee. One of the pets of abock :-)"

Now you know all to make a patch ;)
Comment 6 Ihar Hrachyshka 2008-02-04 22:41:17 UTC
I'm not the one for making patches there.
BTW: why isn't Banshee shown on Damned Lies?..
Comment 7 Pavel Šefránek 2008-02-04 22:56:14 UTC
Don't know but you can contact Claude Paroz <claude@2xlibre.net> and ask him.
Comment 8 André Klapper 2008-02-04 23:19:38 UTC
http://l10n.gnome.org/module/banshee looks broken, indeed.

> andre: banshee doesn't use gettext comments at all
i think he only meant that one term. otherwise the maintainer would not know what to fix. we definitely do not want comments on every single string. ;-)
Comment 9 André Klapper 2008-07-29 00:29:38 UTC
This is obsolete and not part of the current svn trunk pot file anymore, hence closing.
