GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 496283
"Boo Buddy" needs gettext comments
Last modified: 2008-07-29 00:29:38 UTC
You should provide localizers with a gettext comment. Look here for info: http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#use-comments Other information:
Documentation was moved to http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/DevGuidelines/Use%20comments
err... pavel: changing the summary so that it does not contain any information what string this is about is not very useful ;-)
andre: banshee doesn't use gettext comments at all, i don't think BooXteR thought only that one "Boo Buddy" string.
Hm, while translating I didn't step in another problematic gettext messages in Banshee. So _for me_ only this message is nonsense and untranslatable. Of course, other messages can be commented to if it's worth the work.
BooXteR: "Boo Buddy is an integrated Boo shell inside banshee. One of the pets of abock :-)" Now you know all to make a patch ;)
I'm not the one for making patches there. BTW: why isn't Banshee shown on Damned Lies?..
Don't know but you can contact Claude Paroz <claude@2xlibre.net> and ask him.
http://l10n.gnome.org/module/banshee looks broken, indeed. > andre: banshee doesn't use gettext comments at all i think he only meant that one term. otherwise the maintainer would not know what to fix. we definitely do not want comments on every single string. ;-)
This is obsolete and not part of the current svn trunk pot file anymore, hence closing.
