GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 495165
evince resizes itself when opening documents in compiz
Last modified: 2011-06-28 23:43:42 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #388985 +++ the title says it all, but I will attach proof (a screencast) nonetheless.
Created attachment 98798 [details] demo of evince resetting its size while running compiz This only happens if you had maximized the window in the first try.
Also, I forgot to mention in this bug report: the initial size is completely off, much too tall, just like in bug #388985

I couldn't reproduce this issue on Compiz 0.8.2 with Evince 2.29.1 (git master). Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use. By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME. Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
I still get this bug. I opened a PDF I've never opened before (just google some company name + "pdf" and you'll find something), and it was a small square, instead of big enough to fit the page. I used: http://www.ibm.com/ibm/licensing/patents/pledgedpatents.pdf Evince 2.28.1 poppler 0.12.0 metacity 1:2.28.0 (All the latest under Ubuntu 9.10).
Ok, then I'm reopening the bug. Sorry. Seems that I skipped one condition to hit the bug, though I don't know which one.
This bug was reported against a version which is not supported any more. Developers are no longer working on this version so there will not be any bug fixes for it. Can you please check again if the issue you reported here still happens in a recent version of GNOME and update this report by adding a comment and adjusting the 'Version' field? Again thank you for reporting this and sorry that it could not be fixed for the version you originally used here. Without feedback this report will be closed as INCOMPLETE after 6 weeks.
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen this bug if you can provide the information asked for. Thanks!
