This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.

#541943 submitted for 2.22, updated version. Dear Sebastian, in Deskbar applet preferences no extension is preselected so when pressing Up/Down buttons, exception is trown. I can reproduce this on deskbar applet 2.22.2.1

How many modules do you have enabled? Best would be if you could provide a screenshot of the preferences dialog.
