gst_version needs nano argument atleast with gstreamer-0.10.14.

This is true, and thanks for the patch btw, but it's been fixed already:

The question is where did you find a link to this version of the manual. The GStreamer documentation doesn't link to it any longer and hasn't for quite some time as far as I know.
