GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 48058
the "Remove theme" operation is confusing
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
What i expected in the themes dialogs was that the "Remove theme" button should remove the currently selected theme (and I thought it removed all of them besides the selected because I had only one user theme). What should be done, is have the "Remove theme" button to remove the selected theme (and be disabled when a system-wide theme is selected), and have a dialog asking for removal confirmation. * REPRODUCIBLE: Always * STEPS TO REPRODUCE: N/A ------- Additional Comments From arlo@workthatmouse.com 2001-04-12 12:11:01 ---- I've never actully seen what andy did when he implimented this, but while what you're suggesting makes complete sense (and is what I'd want to see happen) it can't work. :-( The way themes selection works is that the currently selected theme is the active theme. So if you go to select a theme for deletion, you'll end up switching to it. If I could find a theme to add, I'd test this. :-) I'd also like to be able to delete some of the default themes (as well as patterns) but there's no simple way to do that. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 21:18 -------
i can't for the life of me figure out how to remove theme the way things are now, this needs to be resolved
Adding GNOME2 keyword.
This has badly confused me in the past as well; badly enough that (to my mind) this is nearly a bug and not an enhancement. It is really borderline, though.
wontfix, there are no longer nautilus themes.
