po/rw.po contains MPL license
Last modified: 2007-10-26 17:07:13 UTC
Hi, for some reason po/rw.po in core contains the MPL license. It's not clear if parts of the file or the complete file is licensed under the MPL or if this is just a mistake. In any case, this should be clarified and one should keep in mind that the MPL is GPL incompatible and as such the stuff licensed under MPL should be removed. Bye
This license block in the middle of the file is a bit odd. It also says: # Alternatively, the contents of this file may be used under the terms of # either of the GNU General Public License Version 2 or later (the "GPL"), # or the GNU Lesser General Public License Version 2.1 or later (the "LGPL"), # in which case the provisions of the GPL or the LGPL are applicable instead # of those above. If you wish to allow use of your version of this file only # under the terms of either the GPL or the LGPL, and not to allow others to # use your version of this file under the terms of the MPL, indicate your # decision by deleting the provisions above and replace them with the notice # and other provisions required by the GPL or the LGPL. If you do not delete # the provisions above, a recipient may use your version of this file under # the terms of any one of the MPL, the GPL or the LGPL. so it should be fine, shouldn't it?
Right, I missed the part of the GPL. Still it's a bit odd to have this license in the middle of the file, let's downgrade the severity... do you know who should be contacted about those translations?
Since it only appears in this particular file, maybe Language-Team: Kinyarwanda <translation-team-rw@lists.sourceforge.net> ?
Ok, I've written a mail. Thanks ;)
Closing, since there isn't a real problem here AFAICS. If anything comes to wrong conclusions because of a grep, fix the bit that does the grepping.
