GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 477983
Login Window (gdmsetup) only use one size of the icon
Last modified: 2007-10-31 23:22:08 UTC
Please describe the problem: The gdmsetup icon is only in one size (48x48) and therefore looks blurry when displayed in the menu. Lapo Calamandrei has drawn a new icon in several sizes that can be used instead. Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Created attachment 95783 [details] new gdmsetup icon should be installed into icons/hicolor.
Is there any work needed to integrate this icon into GDM, or does this just replace the existing icon? If there is additional Makefile.am work, can this be provided as a patch? Does the author of the patch agree that the icons can be released under GPL?
Yes, icons licensed as gpl. As you need to install several sizes, just replacing the png you're installing now won't help. Adding Luca to CC, he's pretty good at this stuff.
Path and data to apply to gnome-2-20 branch merged in bug #477799
I gave you approval to commit those changes in the other bug, so please close this bug after you've fixed it in the 2.20 branch. I'm betting there may also be work to do in the SVN head branch to make the icons work properly. If you have time, ou might take a look at that also, since it uses completely different icons, etc. GDM 2.21.1 should be released next Monday, so perhaps you can look at it then.

OK, committed on gnome-2-20, but no permission to close this bug... > I'm betting there may also be work to do in the SVN head branch to make the > icons work properly. No problem. I am closing for you now. Thanks.
