Description Pedro Villavicencio 2007-09-11 13:21:00 UTC
This bug has been filled here:

"Binary package hint: nautilus-sendto

The list of devices (Send to) for Bluetooth (OBEX Push) does not show the current status of devices in range but old devices too. This is very annoying if there are two devices with the same name and different BT Addresses because you don't know which one to choose (only the name is displayed and even if bt address would be displayed, nobody would know which one is the right).

This list should be updated with a bluetooth inquiry and only show bt devices which are available..."

We should use the chooser button as available in gnome-phone-manager.

Pending a "real fix", where do bluetooth-applet and friends store this data so I can clear the out of range entries myself? It's very frustrating since I exchanged my broken phone for an identical one, and the name is the same.
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2008-09-29 18:20:17 UTC
You can delete known devices, paired or not, in the bluetooth preferences if you have a new enough version.

Apparently I don't have a new enough version on ubuntu hardy - I only see bonded devices. Is there no way to access the underlying data store? Thanks!

The Bluetooth plugin for nautilus-sendto now lives in gnome-bluetooth, and will only show discovered devices, and known devices, avoiding the problem of lingering discovered devices.

Please file a new bug against gnome-bluetooth if you still have problems with the latest code.
