GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 473487
Save-on-exit dialog could be clearer
Last modified: 2009-08-15 18:40:50 UTC
[from http://bugs.debian.org/392124] when meld is closed with unsaved changes, there's a nice dialog asking which files should be saved. But IMO the button labelling could be improved: it's not immediately clear that "Quit" means "Quit and discard changes", while "OK" means "Quit and save selected files". And actually it's not that clear either that "Cancel" means "Don't quit". The user shouldn't stumble here and have to think twice about it, but just be able to immediately grasp the meaning and continue.
The options in Meld's quit dialog have been renamed to the clearer "Quit without saving" and "Save selected". "Cancel" remains the same, but its meaning is consistent with how it is used in other applications. The fix is in the current stable release. Thank you for your bug report.
