GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 473181
help button does not work
Last modified: 2008-11-05 17:21:15 UTC
This bug has been filled here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/136813 "Binary package hint: gnome-control-center The Help button in dialog "Appearance preferences" does not do anything. This dialog can be started from the icon "Appearance" on the Desktop or by commandline: gnome-appearance-properties"
I'm also seeing this bug in Ubuntu Gutsy, Gnome 2.20.0, updated 26th Sept.
Yes, the button's simply not hooked up, and since yelp/rarian don't work for me I can't fix it atm. Is there actually documentation for the appearance capplet it could link to?
The documentation is still for the single capplets as of 2.20.
Shouldn't this button being masked until it's doing something?
*** Bug 526467 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This bug is still present in gnome 2.22.3 The description needs updating.
I guess we should really just remove the button.

reopening the button is still displayed in the current version

Since it's only been removed after 2.24.0, that's not exactly surprising. In fact, it's been readded and made to work since.
