GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 467849
Serpentine doesn't read automatic playlists from Rhythmbox
Last modified: 2014-09-01 09:59:01 UTC
Please describe the problem: I am able to open regular Rhythmbox playlists, but if I tell Serpentine to open an automatic playlist then nothing happens and no files are added. Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
This would essentially require reimplementing the Rhythmbox's automatic playlist parsing inside serpentine as far as I can tell. Unless we do some modification to RB to allow some sort of API to access the automatic playlists, it would be difficult. Honestly, I'm not that familiar with either application, so I could be way off-base. I'm uploading a patch that simply tells that it is not implemented yet instead of just doing nothing.
How about simply not listing the automatic playlists in the 'open rhythmbox playlist' list? This seems like a sensible thing to do until Rhythmbox presents an API to allow external programs to read its automatic playlists.
Yeah, I changed my mind to do that. Patch is coming as soon as I learn Python... It's not that complex.
