GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 465010
GStreamer translations are old and out of sync
Last modified: 2007-09-08 20:30:37 UTC
Some of the GStreamer translations done through The Translation Project (TP) are: - out of date - added after the actual release - not commited to SVN tree Current versions in TP: gst-plugins 0.8.12 gst-plugins-bad 0.10.5 gst-plugins-base 0.10.14 gst-plugins-good 0.10.6 gst-plugins-ugly 0.10.6 gstreamer 0.10.14 Comparing this with trunk/HEAD over at http://l10n.gnome.org/languages/sv/freedesktop.org you notice that some translations through TP doesn't get commited (or too late) or doesn't get added to TP Other information: My suggestion is that you let the GNOME GTP teams handle the translations.
There was a bug in our old download-po script. It would only download translations for languages that already existed, but not newly-added ones. This is fixed now. Also, the whole download-po thing wasn't mentioned in the release notes, so it wouldn't get updated if the person doing the release didn't know about it already and remember it. This is also fixed now in the release docs. I know the situation with the translations isn't ideal, but (AFAIK) there were good reasons for not having the GNOME translation team handle the translations (among other things probably the problem with CVS commit access on freedesktop.org). If you want his changed, please take it up with Thomas (van der Stichele). 2007-09-08 Tim-Philipp Müller <tim at centricular dot net> * docs/random/release: Really make sure translations are up-to-date before a release (#465010).
