GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 460086
several string translation issues
Last modified: 2007-07-30 20:48:50 UTC
hi jon, #: ../data/lock-dialog-default.glade "Note" can you please add a translator comment if this is the noun or the verb, and in which context this is used? http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#use-comments #: ../savers/floaters.c:84 "Show paths that images follow" what does that mean? #: ../savers/floaters.c:93 "MAX_IMAGES" #: ../savers/floaters.c:96 "WIDTHxHEIGHT+X+Y" #: ../savers/slideshow.c:50 "PATH" should these strings really be marked for translation?
also, strings like #: ../src/gs-lock-plug.c:1372 msgid "%U on %h" are very hard to translate if you don't know that %U is the username and %h is the host. "on" can mean half a dozen of words in my language, depending on the context. translators should not be required to take a look into the source code, so please add a translator comment here. thanks.
Ok, I've added a comment for gs-lock-plug.c:1372. For the others... In the link you posted it says that comments aren't supported in glade files. So, not much I can do about the Note one. For the others, they are just to document the command line options. So, I suppose they should be translated but I don't really care. Thanks.
hi jon, thanks. seems like the doc is old... glade does support comments, just add a comments="bla" attribute to an object, for example http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/evolution/trunk/calendar/gui/dialogs/recurrence-page.glade?r1=26468&r2=31488
Ah, OK. Will do then. Thanks.
Oh, as it turns out this string isn't even visible. So I've just removed it.
