Description Alexander van Loon 2007-07-12 06:56:56 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I used Blender to render an animation, Blender rendered every frame of the animation to a total of 300 jpg files. I wanted to convert these frames to a video file using Pitivi.

I opened Pitivi and selected "Import clips...", then selected all the 300 frames and added them. Then I got the following error message, "Error occured while importing":

URI : /media/disk/Documents%20and%20Settings/Sander%20van%20Loon/Desktop/render/grass_anim0001.jpg
Problem : Could not establish the duration of the file.
Extra information : This clip seems to be in a format which cannot be accessed in a random fashion.

After I got this error message, I tried to import just a single image, but that resulted in the same error message.

AFAIK, I'm supposed to be able to import images in Pitivi, right? I'm not sure, but possibly my bug is related to bug #415360, the only difference with my problem being that I can't even import a single image.

Steps to reproduce:

Does this happen every time?

Oh, and if it's relevant, I'm using Pitivi 0.10.3.

yeah, importing images and using them in the timeline is an issue currently, but is on the Summer of Code todo list. Changing the title accordingly.

We're one step closer, images can now load properly in the source list... but we still can't use them.
Comment 4 Brandon Lewis 2008-11-04 05:15:27 UTC
I have started a branch for image support in my git repository.

Very useful also to make a video of your holiday's photos, along with some nice background music; or to set a cover before the whole video, etc.

@Brandon: what is the address of your git repo?
Comment 6 Edward Hervey 2008-12-14 14:29:34 UTC
All the git repositories are here : http://www.pitivi.org/wiki/Git_Instructions
