GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 45436
show URIs in the status bar when hovering over lines in the History panel
Last modified: 2010-12-04 12:20:48 UTC
This is a low-priority feature request: When the mouse hovers over a link in the history sidebar panel, it would be nice/handy to see the complete URI in the status bar. For example, if I browse /usr/bin and /home/brett/bin, there are two links named "bin" in the history with no way to tell which is which. (OK, that comment isn't valid, because if there's a namespace clash, the link names will become the full URI.) When browsing bookmarks in Netscape, I often refer to the URL in the status bar for assurance that it's what I want. ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2001-01-04 16:12:10 ---- I like this idea, and it's easy to implement. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-02-09 11:36:09 ---- Duane is now the proud new QA owner of 'Sidebar', and 'Sidebar Panel: (Other)'. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-03-26 11:07:53 ---- QA Assigning to self. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:53 -------
Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
Does this feature break the spatial model?
The history panel doesn't even exist in spatial mode :).
> I like this idea, and it's easy to implement. No it isn't. We have to push the statusbar and have access to the window's help message CID, which isn't possible, since there is only NautilusWindowInfo. Except if we mess around with gtk_widget_get_toplevel, of course.
Obsolete now that the history sidebar has gone. Closing.
