GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 45424
Dragging icons from List View to gnome-terminal doesn't paste path
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
If you drag an icon from a List View window to Gnome-terminal, Gnome-terminal rejects the drag, and the file's path is not pasted into the terminal window. This works from all other views checked. (For details, see bug #44158, from which this is forked.) * REPRODUCIBLE: Always * STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. Point Nautilus to a local directory containing files; I used /home/eli. View as List. 2. Open a Gnome-terminal window. 3. Drag a file from the Nautilus list view to the Gnome-terminal window. * ACTUAL RESULTS: The icon bounces back to the Nautilus window, with the animation of a failed drag operation. The path of the file does not appear in terminal window. * EXPECTED RESULTS: Behavior similar to a drag from Icon View: the file's path should be pasted to the Terminal window. ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2001-01-04 09:05:50 ---- Unfortunate, and probably easy to fix, but something we can live with I think. ------- Additional Comments From brett@eazel.com 2001-03-02 18:34:38 ---- Looks like this works now. Eli, can you still reproduce? ------- Additional Comments From brett@eazel.com 2001-03-02 18:35:54 ---- Sorry, ignore my previous comment. Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
We'll fix this for Gnome 2.
Remember that dnd doesn't work at all currently for the list view. Dnd with multiple files also seems difficult to do with GtkTreeView :(
this is fixed.
