Description eli 2001-09-10 00:53:39 UTC
If you drag an icon from a List View window to Gnome-terminal, Gnome-terminal
rejects the drag, and the file's path is not pasted into the terminal window.

This works from all other views checked. (For details, see bug #44158, from which
this is forked.)

* REPRODUCIBLE: Always

* STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Point Nautilus to a local directory containing files; I used /home/eli. View
as List.
2. Open a Gnome-terminal window.
3. Drag a file from the Nautilus list view to the Gnome-terminal window.

* ACTUAL RESULTS:

 The icon bounces back to the Nautilus window, with the animation of a failed
drag operation.

The path of the file does not appear in terminal window.

* EXPECTED RESULTS:

  Behavior similar to a drag from Icon View: the file's path should be pasted to
the Terminal window.

Unfortunate, and probably easy to fix, but something we can live with I think.

Looks like this works now. Eli, can you still reproduce?

Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
Comment 2 Darin Adler 2002-01-29 19:38:22 UTC
We'll fix this for Gnome 2.
Comment 3 Anders Carlsson 2002-01-29 20:09:17 UTC
Remember that dnd doesn't work at all currently for the list view.

Dnd with multiple files also seems difficult to do with GtkTreeView :(
Comment 4 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2002-09-02 04:46:08 UTC
this is fixed.
