GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 45246
Search bar sentence pieces must be reordered as part of translation to some languages
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
This is part of splitting up bug 41971. This task involves adding a string that translators can use to specify the order of each of the criteria in the search bar. The order in english is "subject verb direct object". ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2000-12-21 10:47:25 ---- We don't currently have a particular language for which we know this is true. If we can't find one, then we can defer this bug. If we do find one, we can make it high priority like other localization fixes. The first job is to identify one or more languages that require this to be certain that this work is truly required and give it a way to test. Another useful thing would be to investigate how the Macintosh Sherlock 1.0 and older find feature (with a similar sentence-style structure) was localized for these countries. Perhaps they found a clever solution that avoided the need for reordering. ------- Additional Comments From don@eazel.com 2000-12-22 10:54:01 ---- Let's try to do this for 1.0.1 ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:48 -------
