GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 450378
the starting programm hangs at "detecting Adaptec I20 RAID controllers"
Last modified: 2008-01-30 07:45:05 UTC
Steps to reproduce: My laptop: DELL Inspiron 2650, Windows XP SP2, 512MB RAM HD is already partitioned with Partition Magic (3 primary partitions, bootmanager). When starting the programm it always hangs at the same programm line "detecting Adaptec I20 RAID controllers". There is no RAID installed. On another laptop - IBM T 41 - with only one partion the programm runs properly. Reason? Thanks for your support. Rainer Lippert Germany Stack trace: Other information:
I just built a beta-iso with some changes in kernel config. I20 raid is now set as module, so it should not be loaded if nothing requires ! It should be available in some hours there : http://gparted.free.fr/beta/ Look at the NOTES_&_MD5SUM file to see with iso to try.

Same problem here. My Fujitsu-Siemens laptop C-6637 also hangs at the same programm line "detecting Adaptec I20 RAID controllers". I will try the alternative iso. Thomas de Graaff
(In reply to comment #2) > http://gparted.free.fr/beta/gparted-livecd-0.3.4-8-beta-i20-20070623-20h25.iso > The alternative iso behaves in exactly the same way as the original. It stalls at "Detecting Adaptec 120 RAID controllers..." Thx for looking, Thomas de Graaff.
Like I mentioned on the web site (http://gparted-livecd.tuxfamily.org/news.php), the gparted-livecd is unfortunately no more supported. I worked on it alone during one year, and I have no free time anymore to continue. BTW with the new c++ dev we focus on the source code. Other good projects are running gparted. One of them is sysresccd : http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page
