Description Young-Ho Cha 2007-06-14 14:15:27 UTC
In compiz 0.5 series, there is video playback plugin, and it provides a way to render video
efficiently on a composited desktop. (see a mail from davidr, http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2007-March/022343.html)

Should you add this feature in gstreamer xvimagesink element?

No. The API used in that email is temporary and unlikely to survive review. And glimagesink works fine with compiz right now. Whenever a stable API for it develops, then it would be appropriate to add it.

Would it be possible to keep this bug open for tracking?
