Description John Harper 2001-09-10 00:45:47 UTC
E.g. how MacOS X displays modal dialogs by overlaying them on the application
window.

Doing this generally is a lot of work, since it requires almost a full window
system (at least: placement stacking). Could make it easier by fixing stacking
order and algorithmically choosing window position (e.g. centred)

Another option could be to constrain the merged windows to the same size..

I started implementing this, the physical implementation is easy, the hard part
is preserving compatibility with the current lisp programming interface, the
assumption of 1:1 mapping from windows<->frames is deeply ingrained...
