GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 445446
Type ahead input doesn't show in the register
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:38:37 UTC
Please describe the problem: For languages that use type ahead, the text you are typing doesn't show in the register if type in place is activated. This makes it a little hard to input text in languages that use type ahead such as many east Asian languages. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open any account register 2. Create a new transaction 3. Type using type ahead in the Memo field. Actual results: No text is not shown as you are typing. If you finish typing and actually enter the data it functions fine from there. Expected results: The text that is being typed would show as type ahead text. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
Did you activate "Embed Preedit String into client window" in scim-setup? Does it help if you remove that flag? I suppose this will not be fixed in the current register code, but the new one should not have this type of problem. We hope that GnuCash 2.4 will eventually use it.
Yah, that's the problem. When I embed the preedit string it doesn't show anything as I'm typing. Removing the option does help as it shows a floating window that shows the preedit string.
Ok. I will mark this bug as WONTFIX, but mean only the GnuCash versions with the current register implementation.
