Steps to reproduce:
1. Download the Jokosher and GStreamer Ubuntu packages from the Jokosher site
2. Install these packages according to Jokosher site
3. Start a new Jokosher project, add Guitar, click [Record]

This is the actual version of GStreamer that I installed:

gstreamer0.10-gnonlin_0.10.8-1_i386.deb

Could you run jokosher from the command line (ie. konsole or gnome-terminal or xterm) like this:

 $ GST_DEBUG=*:5 jokosher 2>dbg.log

and then reproduce the error and then exit (if it doesn't crash by itself). Then attach the dbg.log to this bug report please.

Bug #362401 – [alsasrc] probe_supported_formats() fails in Jokosher

might also be related (and looks like a broken alsa config file/setup to me).
